Cinema Museum to honor Amin Tarokh and Maziar Miri

Cinema Museum of Iran is to unveil two newly dedicated wings to Amin Tarokh and Maziar Miri.

In a special ceremony scheduled for this Wednesday, the Cinema Museum of Iran is to unveil two newly dedicated wings to honor the late actor Amin Tarokh and acclaimed director Maziar Miri.

The event, to take place at 17:00 Tehran time, marks a significant tribute to two of Iran’s most influential figures in cinema.

The new wings will showcase a collection of memorabilia, prizes, and personal gifts associated with Tarokh and Miri, offering visitors a unique insight into their lives and careers.

The opening ceremony will be followed by a memorial service for Amin Tarokh, to be held at the Ferdows Hall.

The memorial is to be held in collaboration with the Cinema Museum and the Association of Actors of the House of Cinema, ensuring a heartfelt homage to the esteemed actor.

Maziar Miri: A celebrated director

Miri, born in Tehran in 1971, is a prominent Iranian director known for his impactful films and television series.

 A graduate in editing from the Faculty of Radio and Television, Miri began his career in 1996 with short films and has since directed 13 feature films and TV series.

His debut feature, ‘Unfinished Piece’, earned him multiple accolades, including the Best Director honorary diploma at the 19th Fajr Film Festival, the Special Jury Prize at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, and the FIPRESCI Award in Dhaka.

His other notable works include ‘Saadat Abad’, ‘Quietly’, and ‘The Painting Pool’, each of which garnered significant national and international awards.

Amin Tarokh: A legendary actor

Tarokh, born on August 11, 1953, in Shiraz, was an iconic figure in Iranian cinema, television, and theater.

With more than 30 films, 20 TV series, and ten plays to his credit, Tarokh was a master of his craft. A graduate of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Tehran, he also held a master’s degree in cultural management.

Tarokh's legacy extends beyond his performances, as he was the founder and manager of the Free Acting Workshop, an institute that trained some of Iran’s most prominent actors.

His contributions to the arts earned him several awards, such as the Best Actor Award at the International Silk Road Film Festival and the Crystal Simorgh for Best Supporting Actor at the Fajr Film Festival.
